Wild norse men seeking fame
Across a sea cold and dark
The northern men left their mark
Reaching the dunes of Northumberland
Setting foot on the golden sand
A rich green land a place to stay
And here they stayed until today
Viking blood courses through our veins
Their language still in many place names
Here today on this rugged shore
